About

Award winning rock band Relic Kings hail from Moose Factory, Ontario on the tip of James Bay.

Winners of Best Rock Album at the 2018 Indigenous Music Awards the Relic Kings have five Indigenous Music Countdown Top 10 tracks to their credit with two hitting #1. Their music is currently in rotation on Sirius XM’s The Indigiverse channel.

Well renowned for their live shows the Relic Kings have opened for The Glorious Sons, Nazareth, The Sheepdogs, Monster Truck, The Trews, Sam Roberts Band, David Wilcox, Sass Jordan, Matt Mays, Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, and Honeymoon Suite. The group has performed at the Aboriginal History Month Celebrations at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto and APTN’s Aboriginal Day Live in Ottawa. They have performed shows with fellow Indigenous artists Florent Vollant, Crystal Shawanda, Derek Miller, David Hart, Adrian Sutherland, Digging Roots, Fred Mitchell, The Fort George Rockers, Chelsie Young, and CreeRising. In 2018 the group traveled to Europe to perform at the Karl May Festival in Radebeul, Germany.

Founded in 2014 the group has had the good fortune of working with some of Canada’s most renowned producers. Juno award winning Mike Fraser, AC/DC’s longtime engineer/mixer, produced Relic Kings award winning 2016 release ‘Armoury’. The Relic Kings 2019 ‘Blinded by The Sun’ release was produced by Darren Magierowski and engineered by Jill Zimmermann, both Juno award winners.

During the covid pandemic the group focused on songwriting with the new material being quite introspective. Fueled by personal trauma the new songs deal with themes of life, love, addiction, and loss. The recording of the new material in June 2023 at Noble Street Studios in Toronto with producer Brian Moncarz resulted in their most complete work to date. The album titled ‘Hey Goodnight’ contains 8 meticulously crafted tracks with each displaying growth and maturation of this exceptional group.

The release of the single ‘Every Time Our Eyes Meet” was accompanied by a music video featuring renowned actor Adam Beach.

The group returned to Vancouver in May of 2026 to record 5 new songs with Mike Fraser at Armoury Studios. The release of the new tracks will begin in late summer of 2026.
